Graduation

The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2015 will be held on Thursday, May 28th at 7:00 pm at the Warner Theater.  

Seniors need to pay for their cap & gowns by April 22nd, the cost is $31.00.  

The seniors who plan on participating in the graduation ceremony need to pay the $31.00 in cash or a check made out to Girard High School.  

This is a non refundable payment. Collection for caps and gowns will begin in March. 

Student must have their senior dues of $10 paid by this time as well.  

 

Baccalaureate

Please also plan on attending our Baccalaureate ceremony on May 26th at 7:00 pm in the High School Auditorium.

 

END OF YEAR SCHEDULE

FINAL EXAM, BACCALAUREATE & GRADUATION SCHEDULE

 

May 18       Senior Finals during Blocks 1 & 3 (11:17 am – 1:11 pm)

                    * If a student does not attend graduation practice, he or she cannot participate in the

                   ceremony. Students must have registered and paid for their summer school classes if

                   they need to pass them to graduate; if you don’t, you do not get to walk at

                   graduation.

May 19      Senior Finals during Blocks 2 & 4 (9:21 – 2:35)       

May 20      Make up tests during the day (7:58 – 2:35)         

May 21     Senior Class Trip

May 22      Seniors do not have to report to school    (class trip rain date)  

May 26      Seniors do not have to report to school

      Baccalaureate (7:00 PM) @ GHS Auditorium; appropriate dress required. (See back

                  page)

May 27      Graduation Practice at The Warner Theatre in Erie

                   * If a student does not attend graduation practice, he or she cannot participate in the

                   ceremony. Students must have registered and paid for their summer school classes if

                   they need to pass them to graduate; if you don’t, you do not get to walk at

                   graduation. Seniors MUST ride the school bus provided to and from practice. They

                   need to be at the high school by 8:00 AM and seated in the auditorium. Seniors will  

                   clean out their lockers before leaving for The Warner Theatre.

May 28       Senior Graduation Ceremony @ 7:00 PM @ The Warner Theatre. Doors will open

                   at 6:00 pm for everyone. Seniors MUST be there by 6:15 pm. Be on time. Before the

                   ceremony, we remove the diplomas of anyone who is not present.

 Graduation ceremonies are dignified formal events. We expect you to act and dress appropriately.

 

Appropriate Dress

Be sure the clothes fit well without being tight or too short or too baggy (pants for the boys).


Young ladies should wear an appropriate dress and dark shoes, NO flip flops sandals.


Young men should wear dark dress slacks, dark dress shoes and white dress  shirt. (NO flip flops or sandals).


If a student does not conform to the dress code he or she will not participate in the ceremony.

 

 

Behavior

Leave at home: cell phones, pagers, CD players, sunglasses, beach balls, silly string,  horns, confetti, whistles and other noise makers, etc. 

If you have any questions about  anything that makes noise, ask Mr. McClelland.

No gum chewing.

Graduates can not carry anything in their hands. Programs will be on their seats.

Remember that the graduation ceremony is not just about the seniors, but also about their families. It is not just about you individually but about all members of the class who have worked hard for this honor and deserve a dignified and respectful ceremony. 

The conduct of the seniors reflects not only on themselves but on their families.

We hope that you will enjoy the graduation ceremony that we are planning for you to help you celebrate this important and exciting evening.

 

Parking Information

Ramps are available on 8th Street between State and French streets and on 10th Street between State and French streets.

 

A parking lot is available in front of Tullio Arena on French Street and across from the arena on 8th Street between French and Holland streets.

 

Handicap parking is available at the southeast corner of 8th and French streets.
