United Way Erie FREE Taxes Needs Volunteer Tax Preparers for the Girard VITA Site!
Girard High School has been a VITA tax site for many years. This year, volunteer tax preparers are needed at our site to help Girard-area tax filers file their 2017 tax returns for FREE, saving them hundreds of dollars in commercial tax prep fees.   No prior tax prep experience is required. Free IRS-based training is provided. Our VITA site schedule for 2018 is Fridays, 4pm-8pm and Saturdays, 10am-4pm.   Please call Cheryl Bates for more information, or go to www.unitedwayerie.org/forms/volunteer-registration to sign up to be a volunteer tax preparer. Help spread the word. And LIVE UNITED!

posted Dec 11, 2017, 4:54 AM by Robin Seneta

Our 6th grade mentoring program made blankets for the Shriners Hospital as a culminating activity to close out the first half of the year. Penn State Behrend organized the project for our sixth grade mentees and the twenty – one community mentors. The mentees and mentors worked on the blankets together and these blankets will be presented to the Shriners Hospital over the holidays.
Thank you to Penn State Behrend and our mentoring program for reaching out and helping others in the community!
