On May 14th 2016, we are planning our second annual “Spring Into Action” event! This is a day of service that gives back to our local community!  Our goal will be to recruit as many volunteers as possible, both children and adults, to give back to the local Girard, PA community by volunteering at several locations.

The "Spring Into Action!" day of service is organized by AmeriCorps Team Members serving in the Girard, Fairview, North East, and North Western School Districts. We will be counting the total number of hours served in the Girard area, and the other school districts will be volunteering on this day as well. There are many different activities and locations to choose from, and the amount of time you volunteer is completely up to you! Even if you can only spare an hour, every hour counts!

Please read the descriptions of the service sites and activities and click the button below to pre-register. This will help us know how many volunteers to expect at each location. There are many service locations to choose from, both indoor and outdoor!

The number of volunteers needed and the hours of each site will slightly vary, so please check out the locations to chose where you would like to help. Regardless of where you go or how long you volunteer, you will make a big difference!

Registration begins from 8-9 AM at Elk Valley Elementary School, where complimentary donuts and coffee will be served.  During this time, you will receive a T-Shirt (limited quantity), and instructions on how you can help that day.  We are encouraging families to participate together!

Please note that unless indicated, parents must accompany their children at all times.

Please do not drop off your child unless you have made arrangements with another responsible adult to chaperon them during the activity.
