The Friends of Rachel FOR Club grade 8 will be meeting Thursday at 11:59 in the conference room in the office.  Please bring all your materials/information for the newsletter.

 

Any 7^th and 8^th grade boy who is interested in playing 7^th & 8^th basketball are to come to the office to sign-up.

 

There is F.O.R. meeting for 5^th grade during tutorial this Friday in Mrs. Shepard’s room.

 

There is a History Day meeting today after school in room 313 until 4 o’clock.

 

There is open lab for computer after school until 4:30 w/Mrs. Spinelli.

 

November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month.  Epilepsy is a condition in which the neurons in the brain don’t always fire correctly, causing seizures.  In honor of all persons affected by epilepsy, a group of 7^th graders are asking that you wear purple this Friday, November 18, 2011, as this is the ribbon color for epilepsy awareness.  There will also be a “donation jar” in the cafeteria this Friday during all lunches if you would like to make a donation.  Student donations will be added to the staff’s dress-down money and we will make a charitable contribution to the Epilepsy Foundation.

 

And now a message from Abbi Mazzocco:

 

Children’s Grief Awareness Day is November 17^th and we’d like to encourage you to support children who have lost a loved one by wearing blue.  If you’d like more information there are flyers posted on the cafeteria and office area window.  Please remember, wear blue on Thursday.

The 6^th grade boys’ traveling team will have practicing on Friday, November 18th from 6-7:30 at EVES.

Attention 5^th and 6^th grade boys, boys mini-league basketball is tonight at 7:15 at Elk Valley Gymnasium.  If you haven’t signed up yet, it is not too late.  You can still sign up tonight.  Again, boys mini-league starts tonight at Elk Valley gymnasium at 7:15pm.
